For the modern gentleman, a proper appearance is a key part of his philosophy. It can take a lifetime to build and evolve his style. Every piece he acquires in his wardrobe and his arsenal is another building block in the presentation he creates. The perfect shirt, the pants, the shoes for every occasion and the little details that tie it together are all a part of the collection that tells his story. The brands he wears are symbols that relate to his personal bearing. The look is his and the style is his dogma.
This develops over time and experience and often grows as a part of his life without total conscious effort.
A refined man has a certain way he rolls his sleeves or cuffs his pants. He has a certain way he wears his socks, his hat, his tie or glasses. The clothes he buys have to work with the way he combs his hair or shaves his face. The cologne his uses, his pocket knife and his favorite drink are a part of this too.
This is the art of the appearance. Every minute detail is important. This develops over time and experience and often grows as apart of his life without total conscious effort.
The trend, the fit and that certain look is the outward projection of the stylish man. The suit doesn’t make the man. The man makes the suit. The designers, manufacturers and the pioneers of fashion are here because he is here. And that is the true nature of his impression.
